As a Graduate Intern, you will support the development of intelligent agents that enhance Non-Financial Risk (NFR) management within ING. This internship offers hands-on experience in applying advanced data science, AI, and automation techniques to real-world risk challenges in a highly regulated banking environment.You will work on designing, building, and testing agent-based solutions that support risk identification, monitoring, and reporting processes. This role provides a unique opportunity to bridge data science and risk management while contributing to innovation within the bank.The teamYou will join the Non-Financial Risk team within the CRO domain, based in Amsterdam. The team focuses on managing and improving ING’s Non-Financial Risk processes and frameworks, including areas such as IT risk and operational risk. ING’s Non-Financial Risk team focusses on Cyber Security, Operational Resilience, Fraud management, Physical Security and all other areas that are linked to people, systems, processes and/or external events.We are increasingly leveraging advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions, including Co-Pilot agents  to improve efficiency, horizon scanning, and control effectiveness. You will collaborate with risk experts in a multidisciplinary, innovative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAgent Development & AI SolutionsDesign and develop agent-based solutions to support NFR processes with Co-PilotPrototype and validate new approaches for automation in risk managementData Analysis & Process ImprovementAnalyze and process structured and unstructured data relevant to NFR domainsTranslate and identify business problems into data-driven solutionsResearch & InnovationStay up to date with the latest developments in AI, agents, and data scienceSupport knowledge or training sessions on AI within Non-Financial Risk teamCollaborationWork closely with NFR experts, IT teams, and other stakeholdersPresent outcomes, demos, and recommendations to the management teamQualificationsMaster student in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related fieldExperience with machine learning, data analysis, or AI/LLM frameworksExperience working with Microsoft Co-PilotExperience with prompt engineering and building agentsInterest in risk management, banking, or regulatory environmentsStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearlyProactive, curious, and comfortable working in a dynamic environmentInternship detailsDuration: Minimum 6 months (graduate internship)Location: AmsterdamNumber of hours: 36 hoursStart date: To be agreedRewards and benefits This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field.
